“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”       — Robert Heinlein, Time Enough for Love

Mr. Heinlein might have a good point. There is a certain romantic/adventurous appeal about achieving Batman-esque levels of peak human ability in all things physical and intellectual. But let’s face it, we have become lazy and “incompetent” by the standards of some our forefathers. We live in an age where there is always an expert for hire one mouse click away. Probably the only time you would really benefit from being a competent well-rounded jack-of-all-trades nowadays is when you are bootstrapping to get your product out to market so you can chase your dream.

Whether you are designing a site for a course you created to share your particular set of skills with the world or whether it is creating a simple sales page for those kick ass sculptures you make in your garage, when you first start out, you will have to do a lot on your own. This can be overwhelming. Mind-numbing, action-stopping overwhelming.

Believe me. I am going through that now.

It is now May 2016. I have been dabbling with the idea of creating something online to get out of the rat race for a while now. Too long in fact, but there have been some mental and knowledge barriers I had to first overcome. I will go into more detail about them later on (via subsequent posts) just in case you face the same obstacles.

In fact, this is one of the main reasons I started this website. Obviously, my goal is more than to just to promote my skills, sell some services and perhaps make a bit of money from affiliate marketing. I really want to help people who are going through the same process I am currently going through. Those who want to chase their dreams but simply don’t know how to get themselves “out the door” and get started. That is Goal # 1.

Goal #2? To chronicle my journey to becoming a competent human. I don’t know if I will ever achieve Batman-like levels but I will definitely share with you what I learned along the way.

So yeah, perhaps there will be some rambling-ons in this blog, but I do hope it inspires and brings benefit. It is a long, hard (really freaking hard) road ahead.

But not impossible.

Please feel free to contact me and I will try to help you in some form or another. Just stay creative and positive and you will see what you can accomplish. After all, anything the mind can conceive, one can achieve.

You just have to take that first step and get yourself out the door of your mental comfort room.
